About Me

I grew up in Indiana and lived in Missouri and Iowa before moving to the Boston area as a young adult. After some time as a technical writer, I discovered user research and immediately fell in love with the discipline.

There is nothing as inspiring as connecting with people and understanding their motivations, their ways of working, and their real needs as they interact with products and services. I enjoy bringing that user connection to development teams, to help them make faster, better decisions about the products and services they provide.

I’ve spent most of my career focusing on technology in two complex and meaningful domains: healthcare and agriculture. It’s amazing to see all the connections of those systems and to work with companies who aim to support the people in them. I’ve also done research in hospitality, IT infrastructure, engineering, education, finance, and e-commerce, and I’ve found something fascinating about each.

At home, I like gardening and sewing, and preserving fruits and vegetables so my husband and I can eat locally as much as possible throughout the year.
